About Myself
Greetings to everyone. My name is Nicholas Stark, and I am a Napoleonic Historian. Simply put, this blog was established to promote the research, both my own and others, of Napoleon Bonaparte and Napoleonic History. A Fellow of the International Napoleonic Society, I work diligently on my research, and any help that others could offer me would be highly apreciated, not only in the form on new publications which could avail me with useful information but also funds, as I need to purchase books on the subject and attend Congresses. Thank you for your thoughts and generosity.

Greetings from Iceland. Congratulations on the creation of this blog. “If you build it, they will come” has become a classic quote from a popular movie that resonates well with this creation. I look forward to read your future postings. I was once a young man not unlike yourself being the youngest around in any group or social cirlcle. You will bring a fresh perspective to the study of Napoleon. He was very much a man of youthful vigour, action and virility in any undertaking, so much so he became an emperor at the age when many today are just finishing the post-graduate degrees. I know it was a different time but any way you look at it, it was in impressive achiement. One question that I have found compelling to contemplate is to wonder what would Napoleon be doing today if he had been born in 1969 instead of 1769. Would his rise to power have been possible, did he just ride like a surfer the wave of events or would he have shaped events to fit his end? Where would Napoleon be today? That would be an interesting blog posting to read
Or in the words of Napoleon himself: “L’audace, l’audace, toujours l’audace”.
